SAM KIETH, WHAT A LOVELY CHAP
Hearing about about the passing of Sam Kieth took me by superize ( and great great sorrow ) and right back to another time.
It would have been around 1999/2000 and we chatted on the phone much, concocting stories that inlvolved a giant yellow slug terrorizing a smalll town, to me it was a terriby important and fun story, we played it out, pitched it to DC and then nothing, ahh comics.
This didnt stop our chatting and eventuslly led to Sam to help with Popbot my first solo series where I did it all, except i was scared, writing, plotting, me goodlord no!!
Sam took my hand and gave me confidence and energy needed for Popbot, I love him for his care he took, the shove I needed, I wish I could have told him that again... death is a fucker....
Sam was a great artist, a great story teller and above all a super great guy, and stellar human and what a great loss his passing is!
