AVENTURE FOR TWO

D'AIRAIN AVENTURE was to be my mega comic, getting to play in many sandpits and just make comics, but alas, like all my mega comic exploits it fizzled like a fizzly thing! Ambition set too high while doing Tank Girl, MGS, and ZVR all around the same time.

Twas to be a combo of three stories at a time: Les Mort 13, Black Magik, and a ZVR prelude etc.

Sales were low ( always are for me it seems ), format expensive and the thus the spiritual support wains from all quarters, that’s the most important thing to me ( most people still dont get that when working with me to this day, but there it is in writing for future reference...), money, fame and that crap doesn't power any creative mission, certainly not at first ( but always rears its head when success happens, then it tradionally becomes no fun and just lawyers). It’s the camaraderie and spirit, If that isn’t there one feels like a cow just being milked on the way to the slaughter house - then shit dries up!

Of course, that’s all just excuses and whatnot, everyone see's everything differently. I messed up as I couldn't manage the situation and make the mega comic! I put the memory of mega fail away, but looking at them now, I’m proud of them. They are fun and there was some cool stuff, not mega, but somewhat cool to me!

Les Mort went on to be a couple of cool figures and some sporadic comics, ZVR trundled on and Black Magik did a disappearing act. I always wondered what was going to happen there!

Maybe it’s my style ( I got form governor ), my art to set up stuff and then leave to the ether, to your imagination to play with, finish your way.
